Our first "Be a light of Christ" activity will be "showcased" on Easter Monday. All students are encouraged to participate with their family to provide hope and encouragement for their neighbors, friends and families. Our first activity is to create a positive message by drawing a picture, writing encouraging words or a Bible verse with chalk on your driveway or sidewalk. Or you can share your message by writing on a piece of paper and hanging it on your mailbox or front door. Please take a picture and share it with your teacher. Remote Learning Week 1 Mar. 23-27
Notes for Parents for Remote Learning:
I will include the plans for the upcoming week.
Your child will need to have access to a computer and Wi-Fi this week. If this is a problem, please email me.
It is very important to establish a routine for your child.
Resources used this week: Mar. 23-27
- 5th grade website
- SES website
- Accelerated Math – go to Educational Links (pencil); Click Home Connect – username and password (your child should know this already)
- BrainPOP.com – username: stedwardsaints password: saints1
- Readworks.org - Go to student; Class code: 5QH6TE, Find your name; Password: 1234 – please don’t change your password
- Office365 – students should have their username and password
- Facebook – Videos to check in with the students especially when starting with Readworks (Look for it on Monday)
Each day your child will have about 3– 3.5 hours of work to complete. It may take some students less time, but it may take others more than the allotted time. Please email me if there is a concern or something comes up that might not allow your child to finish the assignments.
I have included what needs to be either emailed to me by the student or what pictures need to be taken. All assignments should be emailed to me by 8:00AM the following day.
When taking a picture of the assignments, please just lay them out and then take a picture. I do not need an individual picture of each assignment. I trust you and your child that you will complete the assignment.
I will be available for emails/questions during the day from 9:00-11:00 and 2:00-3:00. After 3:00 I will do my best to get back to you as soon as I can. I will check my email throughout the evening but may not be as quick to answer. I am flexible and know that many of you are in different situations right now and these times may not work for you. Please email me if there is a concern.
Please know that this is new for all of us. Please be patient with your child because this is not their normal routine and they may become anxious/upset easier. Your child may also be overwhelmed when looking at the amount of work each day, so that is why a schedule will help ease their mind. If it seems like they are spending a lot of time on one subject, then give them a break and come back to it.
Accountability:
I will be able to monitor your child’s progress when they are using readworks.org, Office 365, and accelerated math.
The pictures also show me that they have completed the assignments.
